What ADAS calibration is, and how we do it
Aimed to work. ADAS is the set of cameras and radar that run lane keeping, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise, and blind-spot alerts. Those sensors only work when they are aimed precisely, and a repair that moves or replaces anything near them changes that aim.
Static: in the shop. We recalibrate them two ways, depending on your car. A static calibration is done in the shop against manufacturer target boards and exact measurements.
Dynamic: on the road. A dynamic calibration is done by driving the car at set speeds so the system re-reads the road.
Your car decides. Some cars need one, many newer ones need both. The make, model, and year decide it, not us.
