Subject matter
This Privacy Policy sets out the terms under which Guttenberg Auto Body LLC (“Guttenberg Auto Body,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information. It applies to visitors of our website and to customers who contact us or bring a vehicle to our shop for service. By using our website or our services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.
Information we collect
We collect personal information in two ways: information you provide to us directly, and information collected automatically through your use of our website.
Information you provide. When you contact us, request an estimate, or bring a vehicle in for service, you may provide your name, telephone number, email address, and mailing address; information about your vehicle, including its make, model, year, license plate, and vehicle identification number (VIN); your insurance carrier and claim details; and photographs of your vehicle and the damage to be repaired. If you submit the free estimate form on our website, we collect the information you enter, which may include your name, telephone number, vehicle details, a description of the damage, and any photographs you choose to upload.
Information collected automatically. Our website does not offer user accounts. When you visit the website, our hosting provider and the third-party services described below may automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit.
Purposes of processing
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To prepare estimates and perform repairs on your vehicle
- To communicate with you regarding your vehicle and the status of your repair
- To coordinate with your insurance carrier in connection with your claim
- To maintain records of the work performed, including for warranty purposes
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website
- To satisfy our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations
Disclosure of information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We disclose it only as necessary to provide our services or as required by law, including to the following recipients:
- Your insurance carrier and its adjusters, in connection with your claim
- Parts suppliers and other vendors involved in your repair
- Service providers that support our business and website operations, such as our website host and telephone provider
- Law enforcement or other authorities, where required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person
Cookies and tracking technologies
Our website uses a limited number of cookies and similar technologies. These include the Google Maps feature on our contact page, which is provided by Google and governed by Google's privacy policy, together with the analytics and call-tracking services described below. We do not use advertising cookies. You may control or disable cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may affect the map and certain features of the site.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use our website. This service uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you view, how long you spend on the site, the type of device and browser you use, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and the source through which you reached us. The information is reported to us in aggregate and is used to improve our website and the services we offer. Its collection and use by Google are governed by Google's privacy policy. You may prevent this collection through your browser settings or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Call tracking and recording
We use a call-tracking service to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to improve our service. When you call a telephone number listed on our website, this service may collect information such as your telephone number, the date and time of the call, and the source through which you reached us. This information is used to evaluate our marketing and enhance customer service.
Calls to the telephone numbers shown on our website are recorded. We use recordings to review the quality of our service, to confirm details discussed by telephone about an estimate or repair, and to train our staff. Recordings are held by our call-tracking provider on our behalf and are kept for a limited period. If you prefer not to be recorded, you may visit our shop in person or contact us in writing using the details set out below.
Text messaging
If you submit the free estimate form on our website with your mobile telephone number, or otherwise give us that number and ask us to contact you, we use it to reply to your request and to send you messages about your estimate, your repair, and your appointment. The free estimate form discloses, prior to submission, that by submitting the form you consent to receive calls and text messages from us regarding your estimate. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may reply STOP to any message to opt out, or reply HELP for assistance. Your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or related entities for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not sold, rented, or shared with any third party for their own marketing. We share your mobile telephone number only with the service providers that operate our messaging and website systems on our behalf, and only so that they can deliver the messages you asked to receive.
User rights
You may request to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask how your information is used, by contacting us using the details set out below. We will respond to your request as required by applicable law. Depending on your state of residence, you may be entitled to additional rights regarding your personal information under state law.
Data retention
We retain customer and repair records for as long as necessary to provide our services, support your warranty, and satisfy our legal, tax, and business obligations. Technical website logs are retained for a limited period.
Photographs submitted through the free estimate form are retained on our website server for thirty (30) days and are then deleted. Copies of submitted information, including photographs, may be provided to our personnel for the purpose of preparing your estimate and are retained with our customer records in accordance with this section.
Data security
We maintain reasonable physical, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect the information in our care against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of storage or transmission is entirely secure; however, we take appropriate steps to safeguard your information.
Children's privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
